T1-Imports

Products that do not come from the EU, are subject of customs supervision and we are not allowed to store them. They must be kept in the customs warehouse until they are forwarded to the named place. These kind of products are approved in the manufacturing country (e.g. USA), but they do not have the European authorization.

Reimport

Branded drugs which are produced in Germany and then sold and delivered to a foreign countries and finally imported back, called re-exports.

Parallel Imports

Pharmaceutical companies and manufacturer place their products in Germany as well as in other European countries. For each EU country, a pharmaceutical company owns a permission to sell a certain drug.
Parallel importers are those independent companies who buy those drugs in another European countries and import them to Germany to sell them parallel to the original manufacturer. Thus, the different prices of the different European countries are the main reason for parallel imports.
Drugs that are permitted outside the EU are not allowed to be imported parallel. They fall under the T1 EU regulations.
